Job summary

Ameriprise Financial’s Asset Management - Investment Technology team in NYC seeks a hands-on senior software engineer to modernize core investment platforms. You will influence cloud-native architecture, deliver full stack solutions, and partner with global stakeholders across investment, operations, products and technology teams.

You will guide teams, implement scalable UI and API components, and drive robust engineering practices while supporting portfolio management workflows and trading

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience coding and/or designing in multiple languages.
• 9+ years building complex software in multiple environments.
• Experience with vendor partners (on- and off-shore).
• Strong full stack capabilities: JavaScript (React/Angular), Node.js or Java/.NET/Python and SQL.
• Hands-on AWS architecture and services (Glue, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, S3, CloudWatch).
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Github Actions, Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong API development and integration experience.
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Selenium).

Responsibilities

• Drive full stack application development using modern technologies across cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
• Design and implement scalable APIs with strong security, monitoring and logging frameworks.
• Develop rich UI components using frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Manage AWS-based infrastructure components and CI/CD pipelines (CloudFormation, Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS).
• Own the production environment operations and applications.
• Review and approve changes before production deployment.
• Interface with vendors for issue resolution, feature enhancements and robust integration.
• Seek automation opportunities to improve team efficiency.
• Provide oversight, mentorship, and technical leadership to the development team.
• Provide governance oversight to ensure adherence to standards.
