Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to guide full‑stack development across Java, Python, and modern cloud architectures. You will lead a portfolio of projects, mentor engineers, and push for innovative, compliant solutions in a collaborative environment.

You’ll work with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, and data tools while partnering with product managers to deliver scalable experiences for millions of customers and advance the company’s technology strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• 9+ years in at least one core language (JavaScript/Java/TypeScript/SQL/Python/Go).
• 4+ years AWS/GCP/Azure or another cloud service experience.
• 4+ years in open source frameworks.
• 1+ years people management experience.
• 2+ years Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Mentor engineers and occasionally code or review code.
• Deliver robust cloud-based solutions for millions of users.
• Collaborate with product managers and use Java/JS stack and AWS tools.
