Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Manassas, VA to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software on Unix/Linux platforms. You will help shape architecture and coding standards while delivering reliable systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
10+ years of experience in software development
Experience with AWS, containers, and distributed systems
Experience with APIs, microservices, and Unix/Linux platforms

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and reliable software solutions
Contribute to system architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stack
Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams across multiple geographic locations
Support CI/CD pipelines, automation, and operational excellence
Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and compliance requirements
Demonstrate technical ownership and accountability
Proactively identify and address technical risks
Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering standards
Act as a role model for engineering best practices
