Job summary

Leidos’ Homeland Sector seeks a Full Stack Software Developer Team Lead to support a CBP Passenger Systems program. The role blends hands-on coding with architecture, real-time scalable systems, and Agile leadership.

The position requires being in Ashburn, VA twice weekly and guiding a three-developer team through PI planning and end-to-end software lifecycle. You’ll work across Java full stack applications, front-end design, and build APIs, while maintaining code quality and robust DevOps

Qualifications

• BA/BS and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience or 4 years of directly related experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 12 years of Tech lead experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain CBP background investigation prior to start.
• Experience with AI/ML as part of the software lifecycle and/or AI/ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
• Direct, mentor, and coach a team of senior developers.
• Monitor team performance; resolve impediments; drive improvement solutions.
• Coordinate schedule execution and plan program-wide software/architecture releases.
• Lead Program Increment (PI) Planning from a technical perspective.
• Groom objectives and provide technical details, architecture.
• Lead cross-team collaboration for development, testing, and deployment.
• Brief customers on PI progress, including testing, deployment and release readiness.
• Maintain code quality and CM process compliance.
• Build front-end with strong visual design and API integration.
• Ensure robust software quality with best practices and automated testing.
• Identify growth opportunities within the team.
• Collaborate with government customers on requirements.
