Job summary

Pinwheel is seeking a senior full-stack Product Engineer to join the Product Engineering team in New York. You will help build public APIs, SDKs, and dashboards, while collaborating closely with Product to evolve our platform and deliver maximum value for customers.

You’ll work on Bill Switch, API versioning, tax product enhancements, and customer dashboard integrations, while mentoring peers and improving code quality. Hybrid-first work model in NYC offers strong growth and impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building full-stack applications.
• Experience in collaborating across multiple teams and engineers.
• Expertise with modern back-end languages/frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Django, Rails, Gin).
• Expertise with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue).
• Python-based microservice stack experience; strong API design.

Responsibilities

• Deeply understand customer needs and design systems to solve them.
• Build, scale, and evolve data models, services, and APIs.
• Design and ship new functionality focusing on internal and customer-facing back-end APIs.
• Maintain and improve the Python-based microservice stack.
• Create and improve tooling, processes, and engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and help the team grow.
