Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Full Stack Microservices Developer to join the Department of State Consular Systems Modernization program in Herndon, VA. The role emphasizes building modular, scalable services with Java, Spring Boot, and React within an Agile DevSecOps environment.

The candidate will define epics, prototype, implement REST-based services, and support CI/CD pipelines. US citizenship and an active clearance (or ability to obtain) are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience (or Master's with 6+ years).
• Experience in full life cycle software development and maintenance.
• Experience with enterprise web applications development.
• Full-stack development with HTML/CSS/JS, React, Java, Spring Boot in Agile environment with microservices patterns.
• CI/CD automation using Jenkins, Git, GitHub.
• Experience with static code analyzers (CAST, HP Fortify, SonarQube).
• Experience developing 508 compliant solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with government stakeholders.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define software requirements as epics, features, and user stories for Agile DevSecOps.
• Develop prototypes to inform service decomposition and modernization roadmaps.
• Design software using patterns to improve maintainability, performance, and security for distributed services.
• Implement enterprise web-based applications (Java stack) within an Agile delivery environment.
• Develop single page applications using client-side rendering frameworks.
• Develop REST-based services using containerized microservices architecture.
• Create automated unit and integration tests for CI/CD pipelines.
• Support CI/CD initiatives and static analysis to ensure high-quality code.
• Provide production support and timely defect resolutions.
