You will help build trusted, scalable technology products and drive architectural decisions for distributed systems while mentoring teams across AI-assisted engineering practices. The role emphasizes secure production code, modern Java and Spring Boot, and strong expertise in event-driven architectures, React SPAs, and open API design.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience building production microservices with Spring Boot and Java (21+) including Virtual Threads, Records, and Pattern Matching.
• Working with event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka (Producers, Consumers, Avro Serialization, Schema Registry).
• Building production React SPAs with TypeScript (complex forms, data grids, role-based access control), including Redux Toolkit.
• MongoDB in production environments (aggregation pipelines, change streams, indexing, sharding, performance tuning).
• RESTful API Design (OpenAPI 3.0, SpringDoc) and microservices architecture (Event-Driven, CQRS, Saga Patterns).
• Proficiency in testing frameworks including JUnit 5, Spring Boot Test, and Playwright.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to validate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and resiliency and security expectations.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions.
• Drive architectural decisions for distributed systems including event-driven pipelines, CQRS patterns, and real-time data streaming
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs and applicability for use within existing systems
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and security while establishing validation standards.
