Laansu in Sterling, VA seeks a Senior Software Developer to build and support software for the nation’s road infrastructure. You will develop full-stack solutions using Java on the backend and Angular on the frontend, working in an agile environment and mentoring juniors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS) or related field.
• 5+ years of building web applications or APIs.
• 5+ years of writing object-oriented code in Java.
• 5+ years of designing objects in relational databases (tables, views, stored procedures, indexes).
• 3+ years of creating rich web application user interfaces using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Angular/JQuery/TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS Cloud environments (ECS, RDS).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar).
• Hands-on experience with Docker and microservices architecture.
• Experience with ORM tools like Hibernate/JPA and an ORM workflow.
• Source control experience with Git.

Responsibilities

• Receive tasks and estimate development timelines from program manager.
• Follow agile sprint-based development and assist testing with load/perf testing as needed.
• Peer-review colleagues' work and provide constructive feedback.
• Document design decisions and technical details during meetings.
• Maintain source code version control.
• Lead the team and mentor juniors; deliver robust software over multiple years.
• Take on additional responsibilities to advance career.
