Cognizant is hiring a Senior Full Stack Java Developer in Louisville, KY to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications that support critical business operations.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, BAs, QA, architects, and teammates to deliver high-quality software. The role emphasizes hybrid work with 2–3 days in Cognizant or client offices and a balanced work-life approach.

Qualifications

8+ years of software development experience with a focus on Java-based enterprise applications.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Strong experience building modern web applications using Angular.
Solid understanding of Core Java, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Experience using Git or other version control systems.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

About The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications that support critical business operations. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance teams, architects, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

In This Role, You Will

Develop and maintain full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.

Design, build, and enhance scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.

Create responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces that deliver exceptional user experiences.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Java-based enterprise applications.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.

Experience working in Scrum or Agile software delivery environments.

Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
