Job summary

MITRE seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to support high-priority Intelligence Community initiatives. This role requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph and an on-site presence in McLean, Virginia or Bethesda, Maryland, with potential travel within the National Capital Region.

You will design, develop, and deploy secure web applications across front-end and back-end stacks, collaborating with IC sponsors and MITRE teams to translate complex mission requirements into scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Typically requires extensive experience in software development in secure environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Experience with SQL queries and database schemas.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph U.S. Government clearance; US citizen required.
• On-site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IC sponsors and MITRE teams to translate mission requirements into scalable architectures.
• Design, develop, and deploy secure front-end and back-end solutions in classified environments.
• Deliver modern software with secure coding, reviews, testing, and maintainable design.
• Partner with UX, Architecture, Data, Security, and Operations to define technical strategy.
• Lead or support development of enterprise-grade applications addressing cross-IC integration, data visualization, and analytics.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs, database schemas, and backend services.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and security of deployed systems.
• Implement DevSecOps and Infrastructure-as-Code in classified environments.
• Present technical solutions clearly to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical standards.
