Job summary

MITRE seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our national-security-focused teams. The role requires designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable applications within sensitive Intelligence Community environments, with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph and on-site work in McLean, VA or Bethesda, MD.

You will collaborate across UX, Architecture, Data, Security, and Operations to implement DevSecOps-driven architectures, build robust APIs, and mentor junior developers while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years as a Full Stack Developer in secure environments.
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Proficiency with SQL, data transformations, and designing database schemas.
• Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph; U.S. Citizenship required.
• On-site requirement: 5 days a week at MITRE locations.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex mission requirements into scalable application architectures.
• Design, develop, and deploy secure front-end and back-end solutions within classified environments.
• Deliver modern software capabilities with secure coding, testing, and maintainable design practices.
• Collaborate with UX, Architecture, Data, Security, and Operations to define technical strategy.
• Lead or support development of enterprise-grade applications addressing cross-IC integration.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs, database schemas, and backend services.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and security of deployed systems.
• Implement scalable architectures aligned with DevSecOps and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Present technical solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to department-wide standards.
