Job summary

Vibes is seeking a senior full-stack Software Engineer to join the Studio team in a hybrid Chicago-based role. You will design, build, and own significant parts of Studio’s core, working across the full stack with React and TypeScript on AWS to shape architecture and engineering practices.

You will lead projects end-to-end, mentor teammates, and leverage AI to accelerate shipping while maintaining quality and ownership. This role requires strong collaboration with product and other teams.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
Deep full-stack expertise and proven API/backend design experience.
Strong ownership, communication, and ability to work in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

Own the design and delivery of full-stack features and services using React and TypeScript on AWS.
Lead projects end-to-end from kickoff to release; drive them to completion.
Set the technical direction for major areas of the system, including architecture and key trade-offs.
Design and maintain the public API and MCP server used by customers to build on Studio.
Push the limits of how the team leverages AI to build and ship faster.
Mentor engineers through code review and team collaboration.
Partner with product and other teams to deliver customer value.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the stack.
Continuously improve the system and engineering practices based on feedback.
