Job summary

NS2 Mission in Chantilly, VA is seeking an Expert Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve secure, scalable full-stack applications supporting Intelligence Community customers.

You will work across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to backend services, RESTful APIs, and modern user interfaces using Python, JavaScript, and Angular in a collaborative Agile environment. A TS/SCI with an FSP clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent).
• Approximately 10+ years of professional experience designing and delivering enterprise software solutions.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for backend development.
• Strong command of JavaScript and modern front-end practices.
• Expertise with Angular or comparable front-end frameworks.
• RESTful API design and integration in distributed applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of Oracle databases and SQL development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain applications in Linux/Unix environments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable full-stack applications from requirements through deployment.
• Architect and implement backend services using Python and modern frameworks.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for system interoperability and data exchange.
• Design and optimize relational databases for performance and scalability.
• Build responsive user interfaces with JavaScript and Angular.
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to define approaches and deliver solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve software defects, performance and integration issues.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and engineering discussions.
• Participate in technical planning, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
• Support Agile delivery and continuous process improvement.
• Ensure security, performance, and maintainability objectives are met.
