Ollie is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain APIs and the technical infrastructure powering our subscription platform. You will collaborate with engineers and product managers in an agile environment to deliver high‑quality features. This role is remote for the Northeast U.S.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience building applications in a Python framework (Django, Flask, etc.).
• 10+ years of experience building API systems, including REST, OAuth2 and integrations with 3rd‑party services using REST APIs and JSON.
• Experience with a JavaScript frontend framework (React, Angular, etc.).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, interfaces, and technical infrastructure powering Ollie’s subscription platform.
• Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle—from planning to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers in an agile environment to deliver high‑quality features.
• Develop and integrate 3rd‑party services to enhance functionality and customer experience.
• Write reliable, performant, and well‑tested code that scales with our growing business.
• Continuously improve existing systems through refactoring, performance optimization, and automation.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing to uphold best practices.
