Job summary

LILT is expanding its Converse real-time translation product, seeking a senior full-stack engineer to own the architecture of the backend translation service and the customer-facing surfaces. You will drive low-latency streaming, interface with enterprise collaboration platforms, and mentor on engineering standards.

This role requires US citizenship and residence in the United States, with preferred locations in Washington, Indianapolis, or Boston.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience, with end-to-end ownership of complex, real-time or streaming systems.
• Strong backend experience with REST API endpoints and real-time/streaming technologies (WebSockets, gRPC).
• Strong frontend experience building stateful, real-time UIs in React/TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical roadmap for the Converse expansion (backend service and live UI surfaces).
• Build low-latency real-time translation pipeline and per-participant language handling.
• Develop live meeting experiences, including stage captions and interpreter workbench integrations.
