Job summary

LILT is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to own the Converse expansion, building the real-time translation backend and live meeting surfaces. You will architect the low-latency pipeline, integrate with partner platforms, and drive the product from prototype to production across multiple devices and platforms.

You will collaborate with Product and Design, ensure robust CI/CD, and mentor the team as we scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience with real-time or streaming systems
• Backend experience with REST APIs and low-latency transport (WebSockets, gRPC)
• Frontend experience building real-time UIs in React/TypeScript
• Experience integrating with platform SDKs (Slack, Zoom) and CI/CD tooling
• Comfort with ASR/MT/NLP pipelines and latency-sensitive ML-in-the-loop systems
• Ability to scope ambiguous 0-to-1 product requirements into technical plans
• U.S. citizenship and residence in the United States

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical roadmap for Converse expansion, including core translation service and live meeting UI surfaces
• Design and implement low-latency translation pipeline (audio ingestion, diarization, streaming ASR, MT)
• Build live meeting experience with on-stage captions and interpreter workbench integrations
• Develop real-time validation and guard logic across languages, devices, and networks
• Collaborate with Product/Design to translate PRD into technical designs and drive delivery dates
• Extend shared translation-service architecture to new platforms and form factors
• Establish testing, CI/CD, and release practices for the new product line
• Mentor engineers and help set engineering standards as headcount scales
