Job summary

Reveal Technology is seeking a senior engineer to own and advance a data-intensive platform. You will work across backend services, data analytics, cloud infra, and a modern web frontend, prioritizing secure, scalable solutions for disconnected environments.

You will design APIs, implement robust data pipelines, and deploy on Kubernetes, with a strong emphasis on observability and compliance for defense and logistics applications.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of full-stack development experience.
• Strong experience with Ruby.
• Experience with React, Angular, Tailwind, Turbo.js, and/or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Rust's async ecosystem (Tokio, Axum, Tower, tracing).
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating services in Kubernetes at scale, including Helm charts.
• Experience building modern web apps using React, TypeScript, Vite, mapping libraries.
• Experience implementing and maintaining OpenTelemetry instrumentation beyond defaults.
• Strong API and software abstraction design skills across heterogeneous backends.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Ruby on Rails apps with PostgreSQL, including PWAs optimized for mobile, desktop, and offline use.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, DB schemas, and data models for defense and logistics systems.
• Build multi-source data ingestion pipelines across relational, graph, and analytical stores.
• Develop interactive web applications to visualize and query complex operational data.
• Design data access patterns leveraging relational, graph, and analytical databases.
• Deploy and manage apps on Kubernetes with reproducible builds and secure pipeline practices.
• Build end-to-end observability with traces, metrics, logs, and dashboards.
• Implement authentication, authorization, security, and compliance including DoD integrations.
• Optimize performance for scalability and low-connectivity environments.
• Collaborate with product/design to translate mission requirements into solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews with high standards.
