Job summary

RareCyte, Inc. is seeking a full-stack Senior Software Engineer to build a web-based platform that analyzes large microscopy images.

You will work across Django services, distributed image processing, and a high-performance browser viewer, using Vue 3, Python/Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, and Docker on Linux with Azure CI/CD. Youll own features end-to-end from design to deployment, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders to clarify needs and adapt as requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5-8 years of production software experience.
• Strong fundamentals: testing, code review, maintainable design.
• Experience with Python web services and Django REST Framework; modern JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and other relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Build complex client-side applications, including real-time instrument control, high-performance image viewing, asynchronous processing, and data management.
• Own features from design through deployment, often evolving with requirements and cross-functional collaboration.
• Share knowledge and evaluate new technologies to keep the stack modern.
