Job summary

VYNYL in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Full Stack Developer to lead the software lifecycle from design to deployment, focusing on robust Python backend services using AWS serverless tech. You will build event-sourced systems, integrate AI-assisted tools, and collaborate across product teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

The role requires strong Django/Python and Vue.js expertise, plus experience with CI/CD, IaC, and data-store technologies like PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python for backend development (including Django).
• Strong working proficiency with Vue.js (and TypeScript).
• Deep practical experience designing, deploying, and maintaining applications using serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, managed services).
• Proficiency with SQL, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding of event sourcing and event-driven architecture patterns, including experience with message brokers or streaming services (SQS, SNS, EventBridge, or Kinesis).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Demonstrated Fluency in AI-Assisted Development: measure productivity gains and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly scalable, cost-efficient backend services using Python and AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge).
• Architect and build event-sourced systems and event-driven pipelines with reliable processing and idempotency.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical designs and shippable code.
• Implement best practices for security, logging, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Perform rigorous code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and drive technical excellence.
• Actively research, propose, and integrate new technologies to optimize velocity and performance.
• Clearly articulate a professional perspective on AI tool integration into the software lifecycle.
