Job summary

Busey Bank is seeking a Software Engineer III to design and extend a payment processing platform. You will work full stack (C#/.NET backend, Angular/React frontend), mentor others, and help shape architectural direction within an Agile team. Expect collaboration with customers and ongoing CI/CD efforts for reliable delivery.

The role emphasizes senior individual-contributor responsibilities, technical leadership within projects, and a strong emphasis on SOLID design and testable code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Preferred or equivalent practical experience.
• 4-6 years of professional software development experience, including full-stack work.
• Hands-on experience building production UIs in Angular and/or React.
• Solid experience with SQL Server as both a hosting platform and a development/query tool.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated application of SOLID design principles and good coding craftsmanship.
• Comfort acting as a customer-facing technical point of contact.
• Experience in payments, fintech, or another compliance-heavy domain preferred.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design concepts and distributed/global engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack features end to end - API, data model, and UI.
• Translate customer and product requirements into working solutions.
• Act as SME and point of contact for assigned platforms, including customer interaction as needed.
• Propose architectural improvements and drive delivery of improvements.
• Mentor junior/mid-level engineers and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and maintain deployment automation.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and support sprint planning and estimation.
