Job summary

Busey Bank in Decatur, IL seeks a senior Software Engineer III to build and extend our payment platform. You will work full stack with C#/.NET on the backend and Angular/React on the frontend, mentoring peers and guiding technical direction for assigned platforms.

You will design end-to-end features, interact with customers, drive architectural improvements, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines in a Scrum environment. Strong Azure, SQL Server, and DevOps experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
• 4–6 years of professional software development experience, including full-stack work.
• Hands-on experience building production UIs in Angular and/or React.
• Solid experience with SQL Server as both hosting platform and development tool.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated application of SOLID design principles and good coding craftsmanship.
• Comfort acting as a customer-facing technical point of contact.
• Experience in payments, fintech, or another compliance-heavy domain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack features end to end—from API and data model to UI.
• Translate requirements from customers and product management into working solutions.
• Act as subject-matter expert and point of contact for assigned platforms, including customer interaction.
• Propose and drive architectural improvements to new and existing applications.
• Identify opportunities to improve team processes, tooling, and delivery practices.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code applying SOLID principles and OO design.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers on technique and judgment.
• Work in Agile/Scrum, including sprint planning and estimation; may serve as technical lead.
• Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
