Job summary

JLA Resourcing Ltd in New York City is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our new engineering office. You'll stay hands-on, building full-stack products while providing technical leadership and mentorship.

You will work across frontend and backend, using TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, Node.js and Rust, collaborating with Product, Design and Engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript skills with backend OO language experience.
• Proven technical leadership and ownership of projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack features from planning through deployment and optimisation.
• Build with TypeScript, React, GraphQL and Ruby on Rails.
• Explore Node.js, Rust and other modern technologies on newer products.
• Work closely with Product, Design and Engineering to solve customer problems.
• Step into product thinking when requirements are not fully defined.
• Lead technically complex projects and remain accountable for their delivery.
• Mentor junior and graduate engineers.
• Help establish standards and working practices for the NYC office.
• Continue writing meaningful production code every week.
