Job summary

1872 Consulting is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to act as the technical lead for a full-stack team, writing production code and shaping architecture. You will conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and design to deliver scalable features.

You will guide architecture decisions, ensure security, and own performance across services and the frontend while coordinating with DevOps on CI/CD and Azure deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack software development.
• Deep experience with .NET, React, Next.js, TypeScript and Azure.
• Lead or mentoring experience, including code reviews and tech design.
• Strong command of design patterns and scalable architecture.
• RESTful API and microservices design
• Hands-on database work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL or NoSQL
• Git and Agile delivery
• Enterprise-grade and greenfield build experience
• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• US work authorization without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve scalable full-stack apps: .NET services and TS/React frontend on Azure.
• Drive architecture decisions and engineering practices.
• Review code for quality, security and performance.
• Coach and develop junior engineers.
• Collaborate with product, design and business stakeholders to scope and deliver features.
• Find and fix bottlenecks in database queries, front-end rendering and APIs.
• Keep applications secure, including auth and data protection.
• Partner with DevOps on CI/CD and automated Azure deployments.
• Track emerging tools and advocate the best implementations.
