Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Senior Engineer 2 in Seattle to join a key technology team guiding the platform that connects supplier experiences. You will own design quality, drive end-to-end implementation, and work across Retail Hub and NVMS in a hybrid Seattle setting.

You will contribute across frontend, backend, and integration layers, applying AI techniques to improve product and velocity while mentoring peers and leading reviews. Expect a high-impact, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering or technology experience.
• 2+ years of full stack development experience.
• Experience designing distributed systems in production.
• Proficiency in frontend (React) and Java/Spring backend.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full stack features across Retail Hub and NVMS.
• Extend Retail Hub platform capabilities.
• Design and build event-driven workflows for tasks across services.
• Build and evolve NVMS capabilities for vendor data across JWN.
• Design APIs and data contracts with backward compatibility and clear ownership.
• Apply AI tools to improve product, velocity, and automation.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive code reviews for quality.
• Maintain a DevOps mindset with cloud-native solutions, monitoring, CI/CD.
• Partner with product, design, and other teams to translate business needs into reliable features.
• Champion engineering best practices and get team to deliver.
