Job summary

Garmin Ltd. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack for its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will provide technical leadership for software development for new products and applications, acting as an individual contributor throughout the SDLC with emphasis on Java/Spring Boot backend and Vue frontend. You’ll design, implement, test, and mentor, while collaborating with stakeholders on requirements and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with strong academic record.
• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Java 11/17/21+, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate/OpenJPA, and Vue.
• Frontend tech: JavaScript/TypeScript; frameworks such as Vue/Express/React.
• Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases; writing complex SQL.
• CI/CD experience and version control (Jenkins, Git, Subversion).
• Ability to design well-architected systems and lead complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership as an individual contributor for new products.
• Design and develop web-enabled client/server applications within SDLC.
• Develop and consume web services using SOA principles.
• Mentor junior engineers (levels 1 & 2) and review technical designs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to derive requirements and plan tasks.
• Contribute to feasibility assessments and project momentum planning.
• Participate in on-call support for Garmin 24/7 operations.
