Job summary

Garmin International, Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to provide technical leadership and project planning for software products at Garmin’s U.S.

headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will design and develop web-enabled applications using Java, Spring Boot and Vue, participate in SDLC processes, mentor junior engineers, and support 24/7 operations as part of a rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant software development experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Java (11/17/21+), Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate/OpenJPA, and Vue.
• Strong frontend skills: JavaScript/TypeScript with Vue/React/Express.
• Experience with relational/non-relational databases and writing complex SQL.
• CI/CD tooling (Jenkins/Tekton/ArgoCD) and version control (Git/SVN).
• Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to design and architecture.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development in Java/Spring Boot and Vue for new products.
• Design and develop web-enabled client/server applications within SDLC.
• Develop and consume services in a SOA environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical reviews.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and schedules.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and on-call support.
