Job summary

Vitalize is hiring a front-to-back software engineer to build the decision engine behind staffing recommendations in healthcare. You will turn messy hospital operations into reliable, explainable software customers trust.

You’ll work with Bun, TypeScript, React, and modern tools to ship impactful features used by clinical leaders and operators daily. This is an on-site role based in San Francisco with an incredible team and mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Experience building production-grade software for health systems.
• Ability to reason through complex edge cases and with data-driven decisions.
• Comfort working directly with customers to understand problems and drive product improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the decision logic behind staffing recommendations, alerts, and workflows.
• Own systems that balance staffing rules, hospital policies, patient needs, and operational constraints.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineers to create complex, user-friendly software for customers.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to understand staffing decisions and translate them into software.
• Build explainable recommendations to allow users to trust, validate, or override results.
• Define where automation ends and human judgment begins to safely scale operations.
• Continuously improve the system using feedback, production data, and outcomes.
