Qualifications

About the Role

This is a contractor role via X-Team. You'll join a US health-tech company that has moved past building from scratch and into scale: adding partners, entering new markets, and tightening the processes that come with handling protected health information.

The work is full-stack. Around 60% is TypeScript and React, shipping product features on Google Cloud. The other 40% is in Go, where you'll read, extend and own backend services, so features don't stop at the API boundary.

Agentic engineering is how this team plans to work, not a side experiment. Leadership wants a more AI-enabled team, and you'll help shape that: using coding agents daily, automating repetitive workflows, and showing others what works.

You’ll sit on a small, senior team alongside staff engineers and another senior full-stack engineer who joined recently. Expect real ownership from early on.

Most Important

5+ years of professional software engineering experience, working at a senior level.

Strong, hands‑on TypeScript and React experience, owning front‑end features end-to-end.

Working proficiency in Go, enough to read, debug and ship changes to backend services.

Daily use of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or similar in a professional codebase.

Hands‑on experience using AI agents to automate engineering workflows such as code review, testing, refactoring or release tasks.

Clear understanding of handling sensitive data securely, including HIPAA and PHI principles or an equivalent standard.

Based in Latam, with at least 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time.

Nice to Have

Previous work on a health‑tech product or in another regulated domain.

Production experience with Google Cloud Platform.

Experience building custom agents, MCP servers or AI tooling that other engineers use.

History of helping a team adopt new engineering practices, such as setting up shared prompts, agent guardrails or AI review workflows.

Curious about where AI tooling helps and where it doesn't, and you'll say so with evidence.

Comfortable as one of a few senior voices on a small team, making calls without waiting for a big bench of peers.

Treats patient data security as part of the job, not a checklist someone else owns.

Moves across the stack without friction, picking up the Go side as readily as the React side.

Communicates proactively in a remote, async setup and flags blockers early.
