Job summary

Govra is hiring a Senior or Staff Software Engineer in San Francisco, with US remote considered for exceptional candidates. You will build and scale Govra’s operating system for governments, turning complex statutes into executable workflows and embedding intelligence into daily workflows.

Collaborate with founders, customers, and design teams in a fast-moving, high-impact environment. The role rewards deep technical work, principled product thinking, and rapid delivery from customer workflows

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with 2+ in a senior role.
• Experience with Phoenix LiveView (Elixir) is required for productive day-one work.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, vector databases and evals beyond API usage.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale Govra’s intelligent operating system for governments across core product systems.
• Design and improve government workflows to automate complex processes.
• Ship production code quickly while balancing reliability, maintainability and observability.
• Evolve engineering infrastructure (GCP, Terraform, CI/CD, deployment automation).
• Improve coding workflows and internal tooling to boost developer productivity.
• Scope work, estimate effort, communicate tradeoffs and progress, and own the systems.
