Job summary

MyOme, a clinical genomics startup in San Francisco, seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead integration of LLM-driven tools for Genetic Counselors. You’ll build end-to-end features in React/TypeScript and Django/Python, design scalable APIs, and mentor teammates in a fast-moving, HIPAA-conscious environment.

You’ll collaborate with clinicians to deliver high-quality patient care and drive platform architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Expert proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Django and React.
• Relational databases, API design, and system architecture.
• Experience integrating with external APIs.
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI/ML concepts.
• Knowledge of Git, version control, and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving.
• Detail-oriented mindset with focus on quality.
• Passion for mission-driven startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Genetic Counselors and leadership to understand workflows and opportunities for improvement.
• Design and build full-stack features that integrate LLMs into genetic counseling workflows from report generation to patient communication to clinical decision support.
• Architect scalable APIs and database schemas to support real-time LLM integrations while maintaining HIPAA compliance and data integrity.
• Write clean, well-tested code across web frontends (React, TypeScript) and backend services (Django, Python).
• Evaluate and integrate LLM frameworks and APIs with safety guardrails and clinical validation.
• Lead technical design reviews and contribute to platform architecture decisions with the engineering team.
• Champion code quality, testing practices, and documentation across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Participate in sprint planning, release cycles, and cross-functional product discussions.
