Job summary

Datavations is seeking an experienced engineer to own the taxonomy and attributes domain end-to-end, driving both data systems and customer-facing applications. You will shape the extraction, transformation, and orchestration layers across a modern data platform, with a strong emphasis on reliability, observability, and AI-enabled workflows.

You will work on an AI-powered extraction engine, dbt transformations, and an internal platform plus customer dashboards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Infra/SRE/Platform Eng.
• Proficient with Terraform and IaC.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD).
• Strong AWS architecture experience.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, dbt, and orchestration tools.
• Experience with modern data stacks and columnar warehouses.
• Full-stack capability with TypeScript/Next.js.
• Production data pipelines and observability focus.
• Experience with AI/LLM systems and prompt versioning.
• Familiarity with Tableau/Power BI and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Own the taxonomy and attribute systems end-to-end, including data warehouse and pipelines.
• Transform extracted values using dbt models and an override layer.
• Maintain orchestration via Dagster/Airflow with reliable monitoring and retries.
• Develop internal and customer-facing applications (React/Next.js) and APIs.
• Ensure write path validation, logging, and governance for changes.
• Maintain data quality tests and observability to detect drift and issues.
• Uphold engineering standards with docs, runbooks and reviews.
