Job summary

Datavations is a New York-based data and AI software company serving the building materials industry. We seek an engineer to own taxonomy and attributes end-to-end, driving data systems and customer-facing apps with a strong emphasis on reliability, observability, and AI-driven pipelines.

You will own the extraction engine, dbt models, orchestration, and the write path, collaborating with the data platform team to deliver scalable, quality data products for customers including major retailers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Infra, SRE or platform engineering.
• Strong Terraform and IaC experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Proficiency in AWS architecture and Python/SQL/dbt.
• Experience with Dagster, Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse or Snowflake/BigQuery.
• Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).

Responsibilities

• Own the attribute extraction engine and its cost profile.
• Develop dbt models for standardization and overrides.
• Manage orchestration with Dagster jobs, sensors, and schedules.
• Own internal and customer-facing applications (React/Next.js, APIs).
• Ensure write path with validation and logging.
• Maintain data quality, observability and testing.
• Uphold engineering standards and runbooks.
