Job summary

EducationSuperHighway seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join a small team and drive the next launch of a complex, API-first platform connecting employers, employees, and payroll systems. You will extend integrations with payroll and HRIS providers and help scale a multi-tenant architecture toward the 2027 launch, including data security and compliant document workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-stack web development experience.
• Experience with early-stage startups and ambiguity.
• Proficient use of AI coding tools like Copilot/Codex/Claude.
• Experience with third-party API integrations, especially payroll/HRIS APIs.
• Modeling relational data for complex multi-tenant workflows.
• Background job pipelines with queue tech and observability.
• Secure handling of PII and financial data.
• Ability to deploy and monitor production services.
• Strong communication in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Build on the API-first full-stack platform and extend it toward launch.
• Integrations with payroll and HRIS providers (Finch, ADP, Workday, UKG, etc.).
• Build provider-agnostic integration layer for new providers.
• Design enrollment flows and multi-tenant dashboards with SSO.
• Develop reliable background jobs with status tracking and retries.
• Support money movement reconciliation with a payments provider.
• Create compliant document workflows for year-end receipts.
• Protect sensitive employee and financial data.
