Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience building production web applications.
• Experience in early-stage startups with ambiguity and 0 to 1 growth.
• Regular use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Codex, Claude) in workflow.
• Strong judgment for AI outputs and when to trust or refine results.
• Experience with third-party API integrations, especially payroll/HRIS.
• Modeling relational data for complex multi-tenant workflows.
• Background job pipelines with queue tech and observability.
• Secure handling of PII and financial data.

Responsibilities

• Build on the API-first platform connecting employers, employees, and payroll systems.
• Extend integrations with payroll/HRIS providers (ADP, Workday, UKG, etc.).
• Develop provider-agnostic integration layer for future providers.
• Design enrollment flows and dashboards for multiple employers and recipients.
• Create reliable background jobs with retry, dead-letter handling, and visibility.
• Support money movement and reconciliation with a payments provider.
• Develop compliant document workflows and year-end receipts.
• Ensure security and data minimization in design and implementation.
