Job summary

Nayya is seeking a senior full‑stack engineer to join the Northstar product team in New York. You will work across back‑end services and data models powering financial planning, as well as client and adviser interfaces used daily.

You’ll own features end‑to‑end—from design through deployment—contributing to architecture decisions, data modeling, and security, while mentoring peers and collaborating with product and clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with full‑stack depth.
• Strong production experience with Rails, React, Python, and TypeScript.
• Comfort with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and cloud infra (AWS/Heroku).
• Experience owning services in production - monitoring, on‑call, incident response (Datadog).
• Track record of end‑to‑end feature ownership and decision making.
• Knowledge of application security and code review practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and own full‑stack features across the Northstar product, from backend Rails/Python/TypeScript services to React front ends.
• Propose and implement architecture changes for the Northstar system and new tool uses.
• Design data models and workflows for financial planning and adviser‑client relationships.
• Identify and address technical debt to keep code healthy long‑term.
• Collaborate with advisers and product teams to translate workflows into software end‑to‑end.
• Flag and remediate security concerns during code reviews with the security team.
• End‑to‑end ownership of services: design, deployment, monitoring, on‑call.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to design and code review standards.
• Communicate clearly with advisers, clients, and executives to drive buy‑in for initiatives.
