Job summary

Schoolhouse is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to join a five-person engineering team and own full-stack features used by learners and tutors worldwide. You’ll work with designers and stakeholders to turn ideas into production and contribute to experiments that scale while keeping safety and user experience in mind.

As a mid-level engineer, you’ll ship reliable code, explain tradeoffs, and collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a full-stack software engineer and a track record of shipping features.
• Able to explain product/technical tradeoffs behind approaches taken.
• Excellent collaboration with designers, teammates, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Understand problems with users and teammates, contribute ideas, move prototypes to deployment.
• Scope work and make technical decisions with senior support.
• Write clean, maintainable code that’s easy to change.
• Participate in code reviews and pairing to maintain quality.
