Powerhouse Institute Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our fully remote team with preference for DMV-area candidates. You must be US authorized to work without sponsorship and able to pass a public trust investigation.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to complete/pass/hold at a minimum a federal public trust investigation.
• Must reside in the U.S. for at least 3 years in the past 5 years. Candidate local to the Washington DC metro (DMV) area is preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant software development/engineering experience as outlined below.
• Experience building full stack applications using modern development frameworks, relational databases, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows.
• Experience supporting cloud-based applications and data solutions in AWS, including deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SQL and Python for application development, data processing, and integration tasks.
• Experience with Snowflake for data modeling, transformation, and query optimization.
• Experience using Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with analytics, application, and platform teams in an Agile environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to communicate complex technical or analytical insights to executive and non-technical stakeholders.
• B.S. or M.S. degree (preferred) in data science, computer science, statistics/mathematics or related field. An additional 4 years of specialized experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application, pipeline, and integration issues in development and production environments, and document root cause and resolution steps.
• Implement application and data pipeline features that integrate with relational databases and AWS services such as S3 and related cloud resources.
• Build, test, maintain, and enhance full stack applications and data solutions across the front end, back end, and database layers.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs to support integration between applications, data platforms, and enterprise systems.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines to support batch and near-real-time data processing and implement data transformation workflows that are performant and maintainable.
• Develop and support data models, transformations, and workflows in Snowflake to enable scalable and efficient data processing.
• Use Apache Airflow to orchestrate, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot data pipelines and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to deploy, support, and improve solutions in AWS.
• Partner with cloud engineering, DevSecOps, and application teams to implement IaC and CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake objects and deployments.
• Work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver application and data solutions that support business and user needs.
