Job summary

Powerhouse Institute Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer for a fully remote role serving the DMV/US markets.

You will contribute across the lifecycle, design data pipelines in Snowflake, build and test full-stack applications, and collaborate with cloud engineering to deploy in AWS. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software development, strong SQL/Python, experience with ETL/ELT, Airflow, RESTful APIs, and a track record in Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to complete/pass/hold a federal public trust investigation.
• Must reside in the U.S. for at least 3 years in the past 5 years.
• 8+ years of relevant software development/engineering experience.
• Experience with relational databases, RESTful APIs, and modern development frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across the software development lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application, pipeline, and integration issues in dev and prod environments.
• Implement application and data pipeline features that integrate with relational databases and AWS services such as S3.
• Build, test, maintain, and enhance full stack applications and data solutions.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs to support integration between applications and data platforms.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines for batch and near-real-time processing.
• Develop data models, transformations, and workflows in Snowflake.
• Use Apache Airflow to orchestrate data pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to deploy in AWS.
• Partner with cloud engineering and DevSecOps for IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
