Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-stack Engineer 4 in New York, NY to lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects, mentor teams, and deliver cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans.

You’ll work with Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes and AWS, set coding standards, drive architectural decisions, and help reduce technical debt in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems
• Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay current with tech trends
• Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions for millions of users
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript, and work with AWS tools and services
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and set coding/design/operational standards
• Partner with architects to define service boundaries and reusable frameworks
• Identify areas for improvement, reduce technical debt, and improve system performance
