Job summary

Stem, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build scalable, high‑performance web applications that process large energy data. You will work across frontend and backend, delivering intuitive experiences for energy asset management and optimization.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to implement REST/GraphQL APIs, leverage AWS services, and contribute to code quality, performance tuning and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full stack development and delivery experience.
• Strong backend with Python/Node.js/Java/C# and related frameworks.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and API design.
• Proficiency in AWS and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Solid testing, CI/CD, and agile/ Scrum experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end features across web apps.
• Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs with scalable backend services.
• Optimize databases and data access patterns for large energy data sets.
• Develop cloud-native solutions on AWS with scalable components.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers in Agile sprints.
• Implement testing, code reviews, and mentorship of peers.
• Participate in DevOps with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring.
• Document code, APIs, and system architectures for knowledge sharing.
