Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a collaborative team building scalable applications across the stack. You will craft features, improve existing systems, and ensure integration with current codebases.

The role involves frontend and backend work, modern React experiences, backend services, and API design with a focus on security and testing. Proficiency in AWS and a Scrum environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Solid experience with React.
• Strong backend development experience with Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Go and building backend services/APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and RBAC.
• Experience designing and integrating scalable APIs.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Ability to confidently work within large or complex codebases and improve existing systems without introducing regressions.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud-based application development.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Go.
• Develop modern, responsive frontend experiences with React.
• Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs.
• Work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including data modeling and complex queries.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and RBAC.
• Navigate complex codebases and improve existing systems without regressions.
• Refactor, modernize, or decommission legacy components while preserving functionality.
• Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Integrate applications with AWS services and APIs.
• Collaborate with engineers, tech leads, and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives.
