Job summary

Checkr is seeking a Software Engineer to build high-impact features across Ruby and JavaScript stacks. You will own features end-to-end, partner with product and design, and collaborate with engineers to architect, implement, test, and release scalable and secure software.

You will deliver reliable code, monitor production issues, and contribute to a customer-centric, data-driven product strategy. A strong ownership mindset and willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-stack development experience (per ad).
• Proficiency in Ruby and JavaScript/React.
• Experience with test frameworks and automation (Cypress).
• Experience developing RESTful APIs; Elasticsearch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the product development of features from design, implementation, to release.
• Partner with product, design and other stakeholders in designing new features.
• Collaborate with other engineers in architecting and implementing new features.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our products.
• Deliver performant, reliable, scalable, and secure code capable of supporting hundreds of thousands of transactions a day.
• Monitor, investigate, triage, and resolve production issues for services owned by the team.
• Bring a customer-centric, product-oriented mindset to the table and ship impactful features.
• Experimentation mindset - validate a customer need, gain team buy-in, ship a rapid MVP.
• Quality mindset - insist on quality as a pillar of software deliverables.
• Develop new end to end web applications.
• Instrument and deploy new product experiments with a data-driven mindset.
