Job summary

Preply is seeking a versatile software engineer to help power learning experiences for users worldwide. This frontend-heavy role involves ~70% frontend work with React and TypeScript and ~30% backend work with Python/Django.

You will ship features that learners and tutors rely on, collaborating with design, product and data teams to shape the user journey. You’ll join a fast-growing, human-led team that values experimentation, data-driven decisions and strong engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Strong frontend focus using React, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Exposure to backend tech: Python/Java/Node.js/Ruby/Rails/PHP/Golang.
• Proactive problem-solving and clear English communication at B2+ level.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver user-facing features using React and TypeScript.
• Develop backend features using Python/Django.
• Improve codebase and workflows across frontend, backend, and mobile.
• Collaborate with Design, Product, and Data to ideate, test, and validate experiences.
• Balance fast delivery with long-term stability and maintainability.
• Uphold high code quality and teamwork, and mentor others.
