Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and own full-stack SaaS features, from design to production. You’ll work with Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL, and shape architecture and APIs.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development and mentoring peers within a collaborative team. You’ll contribute to production performance, scalability, and ongoing improvement, with opportunities to influence engineering practices and technology choices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally SaaS or web-based products.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud-based application development.
• Experience owning software features from design through production.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices.
• Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and own new product features from design through testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancements.
• Develop full-stack SaaS applications using Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Shape technical design decisions, APIs, and database structures.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging.
• Collaborate with a Principal Engineer to establish AI-driven engineering practices.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Own production performance, quality, and scalability.
