Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation in Texas is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Advisor Services Client Experience Engineering organization. You will design and build modern web applications, APIs, and cloud-enabled services that power advisor and client journeys across Schwab’s platforms.

As part of a collaborative Agile team, you’ll influence technical direction, mentor teammates, and help modernize how software is built, tested, and deployed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience supporting all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience building modern web applications using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and Web Services.
• Experience creating scalable application designs and translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of testing strategies like BDD and TDD.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable web applications and APIs.
• Deliver modern user experiences using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Build resilient backend services using .NET/C# and RESTful APIs.
• Develop solutions prioritizing reliability, performance, security, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from design through production support.
• Champion test automation, CI/CD, code quality, observability, and DevSecOps practices.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Continuously improve application stability, performance, and user experience.
• Leverage modern AI-powered developer tools to enhance productivity and innovation.
• Partner with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
