Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver frontend features using TypeScript, React, and Next.js for healthcare users and patients. The role emphasizes AI-assisted UI rendering, accessibility, and secure handling of sensitive information within a clinical context.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong frontend depth.
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on experience with Next.js including App Router, SSR/SSG, and server components.
• Ability to build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs and deliver full-stack features independently.
• Strong eye for UX quality and attention to detail in interface implementation.
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and practical application.
• Understanding of sensitive data handling requirements in frontend contexts.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and LLM coding harnesses.

Responsibilities

• Frontend feature development using TypeScript, React, and Next.js for care teams and patients.
• Translate AI capabilities—LLM-generated content and clinical outputs—into intuitive UI patterns.
• Build end-to-end features spanning SSR/CSR, API integration, and client-side state management.
• Contribute to shared component libraries and maintain design system consistency.
• Ensure interfaces meet WCAG accessibility standards and support health literacy needs.
• Implement HIPAA-compliant frontend practices including secure session handling.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design reviews with cross-functional teams.
