Job summary

Humana in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver frontend features with strong TypeScript and React expertise. You will work on AI-assisted rendering patterns and end-to-end delivery, spanning server rendering, APIs, and client-side state management.

You will collaborate across product and design, ensure WCAG accessibility, and uphold HIPAA frontend practices while contributing to a robust design system and component library.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years frontend-focused software engineering with strong frontend depth.
• Expert-level TypeScript and React proficiency.
• Experience with Next.js including App Router, SSR/SSG, and server components.
• Ability to build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs and deliver full-stack features.
• Strong UX quality and attention to detail in interfaces.
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and practical application.
• Understanding of sensitive data handling in frontend contexts.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and LLM harnesses.

Responsibilities

• Frontend feature development using TypeScript, React, and Next.js for care teams and patients.
• Translate AI capabilities into intuitive UI patterns that are trustworthy for clinical contexts.
• Build end-to-end features spanning SSR, API integration, and client-side state management.
• Contribute to shared component libraries and maintain design system consistency.
• Ensure accessibility and health literacy considerations across interfaces.
• Implement HIPAA-compliant frontend practices and secure data handling.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design reviews with teams.
