Job summary

Nomic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in New York, NY (Hybrid) to build and evolve the Nomic platform. You will work across UI, APIs, and backend systems used by enterprise customers and developers daily, shaping the architecture and delivering high-quality software.

You’ll lead AI-enabled coding workflows, decompose work for agents, and maintain coherence as code is generated rapidly, ensuring clean architecture and a strong end-user focus.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong full-stack skills — frontend and backend ownership.
Production experience with Python and TypeScript.
Active, intentional use of AI coding tools as primary workflow.
Good instincts for API design, data modeling, and system architecture.
Code that is clear, tested, and easy to change.
Care for end-user experience, not just implementation.

Responsibilities

Build product features end-to-end from UI to data layer.
Develop backend services in Python and TypeScript.
Develop frontend in React/TypeScript.
Create APIs for product and external developers.
Integrate with AI and agent systems.
