Job summary

Taskrabbit is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our AI & Innovation team. You will work on a remotely distributed stack focused on financial infrastructure reliability, performance, and maintainability, shaping how clients and Taskers transact money.

You will drive AI-assisted development, define technical roadmaps, and mentor engineers while delivering scalable Node.js systems and thorough test suites across backend and frontend components.

Qualifications

• 5 years professional software engineering including frontend and backend experience.
• Extensive experience with Node.js and microservice architecture; Rails is a plus.
• Strong SQL and data modeling experience (Postgres, Snowflake).
• Hands-on experience with async/event-driven systems (Kafka) and microservices.
• Proven track record designing observability/alerting for critical systems.
• Mastery in building, debugging, and scaling distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect multi-quarter technical roadmap for AI & Innovation team, defining backend and frontend evolution.
• Lead complex cross-team technical initiatives and drive strategy.
• Translate business goals into clear technical designs and experiments.
• Mentor engineers, promote high-quality testing and AI practices.
• Champion Spec-Driven Development using AI tooling for robust Node.js implementations.
• Ensure specs are translated into resilient, scalable software with strong test suites.
