Job summary

Digital Consultants seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and sustain secure full-stack applications enabling FEMA AI solutions across cloud environments. You will translate program needs into scalable technical solutions, develop front-end, middleware, and back-end components using PERN, and implement infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. citizenship and FEMA suitability eligibility.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, AI, ML or related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant software development experience.
• Experience with Agile software development (Scrum) practices.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and full-stack development.
• Hands-on experience with PERN stack (PostgreSQL, Express.js, React, Node.js).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and Git-based source control.
• Familiarity with security boundaries and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications for FEMA AI solutions across cloud platforms.
• Translate program needs into scalable, secure technical solutions.
• Develop front-end, middleware, and back-end components using PERN and Terraform.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage source code in Git repositories.
• Incorporate observability to monitor performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers in Agile ceremonies.
• Produce architecture, security, and deployment documentation.
